Our Story
SAIMSA, the Southern Africa Inter-Municipal Sports Association was born in 2007 in Walvis Bay Namibia four years after the first games were held in Botswana.
The sole purpose of the existence of the association is to promote municipal sport as a concept in the SADC Regions.
Currently, only five Countries have participated in SAIMSA events since inception namely Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Swaziland.
Our goal is to have all SADC Countries participate in the games.
Our Mission
To promote unity through interaction and sharing of ideas between the public service of local authorities in the sub-continent.
Business
The games help corporates and small business enterprises as athletes and spectators buy food and other services from locals.
Tourism
The games are a significant tourism boost for Botswana as participants will travel through the country from 5 different countries.
